Intruder alert or paranoia?

Hi, my new Win 8 system is showing, on the Desktop Network view under the heading Computer (2), an ASUS Nexus 7 occasionally when I power up. When I checked the properties and got the MAC address and then Google'd the info the device disappears. It is labelled NASAKI or something like that. It's happened several times now and I have started to turn off power to my Cable modem and it seems to have stopped it temporarily. My network is WPA protected and wireless is active. There is NO Asus device in the house and it is not picking up any new smartphone devices that we do have.
Am I being paranoid or is this a potential piggyback of someone on my network?

Thanks, this is my first post and hope you can help out..

If you are on wireless, try WiFi Guard- it will show which computers are on your network or router. It doesn't provide getting rid of them, but at least you know if someone is using your wireless. It's free of charge and virus free.

SoftPerfect WiFi Guard: keep your WiFi secure
