Whenever I boot up my computer, I always have to go and connect to the internet. It doesn't automatically connect to the internet. I don't want to do this anymore. I tried clicking "Connect Automatically," but that didn't solve the problem. I also tried troubleshooting. It found some problems, and it was the problems were fixed but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Have you tried starting up in safe mode with networking? You didn't mention if this is a wired or wireless connection?

If it works correctly in safe mode then most likely an installed program is causing the problem.

Updating the driver sometimes works as well but there are many other reasons why this problem occurs. :)

I'm using a wireless connection. How do I boot in Safe Mode? I'm still new in Windows 8.
Thank you for replying.

Hello. I booted in safe mode with network. However, the network icon shows like a red x on it. I had to click on the icon, and connect to the internet. It didn't connect automatically. :\

Well you haven't listed your system specs so I can't help you find an updated driver but that is the most likely problem. :)

For the model thing, do you mean my computer model? If yes, then it's 120-1333w.

Not sure what you mean by an on-board network card or a separate one.

It depends on, if you use a (modem-) router which has settings for it or if you have dial-up / local on your computer stored connection settings (User / Password) or if you use the wireless-card, which could use the build-in assistant in Windows or a separate Software from HP (didn't check if there is a Software from HP).

The Router should have something similar to this here:

For Dial-Up / on your computer stored log-in details have a look here to give you an idea:

If you use Wireless, then there is an option in the software or within Windows for it, which get's usually only ticked to activate auto-connect.
