Problems setting up DLNA server in windows 8

I am trying to set up for media streaming from my PC to my Sony Blu-Ray player using the
DNLA. I have a good network connection and have set up all permissions with Homeshare.
I get everything done and when I go into Media Player and click on the Stream tab to turn
on media streaming nothing happens. Also on my Blu-Ray player there is a DLNA server
tab should show up but it does not. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do to fix this.
    Thanks.

News flash, Windows media player in Windows 8 can not play DVD's or stream them, there is no built in DVD player in Windows 8 so it's not broken, they simply removed the functionality, it can do music but that's about it.

I use Windows Media Center for streaming.

Thanks for the response chev65. I have Media Center 18 from JRiver and it has a DLNA Server feature that works fantastic.
It's a great program that has a lot of features and it was only $50. I have Win 8 Basic and to get Windows Media Center I
would have had to buy Win 8 Pro and that's $99 and I already had Media Center so I saved some money. If you don't
have it you should check it out at, www.jriver.com It's a good program.
