Can't access folder on my own PC

I added an SSD and installed windows 8 on it. On my old HD now my E drive are all my documents music etc from before. I can access all folder with the exception of music. I get a message that I don't have permission to access this folder.

How can I gain access to it?

Hello Trevor,

Right click on folder/properties
click security tab
click advanced to the bottom of window "For special permissions"
To the top of the screen you will see the owner, click change next to the owners name
enter "your account name" in the object name box
click check names
click ok
select the replace owner on subcontainers and objects
click apply
click ok and shut down all properties screens
right click on folder again, folder/properties/security tab
select administrators in the group or use name box
click edit
select administrators in the group or use name box again
select allow full control
apply
ok
ok
you should have full control now

hope this works for you

    Other Info
I did a fresh format and install of Windows 8 64 Bit Pro. Sorry but I couldn't live without a start button so I have installed the Start8 start menu which is great. I try sometimes not to use it but find metro frustrating to find programs as I have many. I will use Metro for apps only and desktop of serious computing.
