Hi,

First of all sorry if this is going to be a long post but i'm kind of at a loss already on what to do with my problem and wanted to be as detailed as possible when describing it, so here goes.

I installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview last december and since then, all my online games both from local and international servers have been experiencing extreme lag during gameplay and loading. This only happened after i installed the consumer preview and since then has been happening everytime i try playing any of the online games. I tried playing offline games to see if it might be the graphics but did not encounter any graphics lag and the offline games played perfectly.

I've contacted my ISP and one of their techs came over to check my connection and found nothing wrong with it or from the connection from their servers. Even streaming and downloading speeds are normal.

I've checked my connection at speedtest.net and my ping and internet connection are also registering as normal

Now i tried contacting support for 2 of the online games Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, they requested a pathping file which i sent to them and copied below:

Now after about a month and several follow ups on my part, they replied with this.

Dear Customer

This is Natasha again

First and foremost, we'd like to apologize for any delay in reaching you
Actually, The team directly sent you an email with the solution on 24 th December however, it seems like it never went though to you for some reason

Anyhow back to your issue, as we looked into your all files, especially from your pathping file, there is a major loss of data in your network environment.

In this case, the lost data has to be re-transmitted from your PC to the game server. Therefore, we recommend you contact your ISP passing your pathping file on to them to resolve your problem.

The reason why we ask you to contact ISP is that we cannot control some technical issues on how your ISP manage their line especially, the path between our server and your location.

Diablo III server is on the US but Starcraft II server is on the SEA and to be honest with you, most of ISP maintain the path between United State very well rather than any other countries for some reason and I don't know their inside story

Also, after installing or upgrading to Windows 8, keep in mind that people commonly forget to reinstall or update their drivers after switching to a new OS.
Failing to install proper video, sound , graphic and motherboard drivers is a frequent mistake made at times like these, and either will cause serious issues with games.
Although Windows 8 will attempt to automatically install many drivers, it rarely will find all of them and will often settle with outdated drivers for those it does find
Thefore, please don't forget to upgrade all up to date drivers that are compatible with Window 8

Hope my answer could help you

Warmest Regards

Natasha

My graphic driver is up to date and i'm running a 2GB RAM 800 mhz + 8 GB readyboost RAM

Seems my problem is loss of data packets during the exchange of data going on during online gameplay.

I'm kind of at a loss already at what i should do to resolve this problem, considering streaming and downloading speeds are fine and only online games are affected, both the game support and isp support are blaming each other for the problem and i'm still left back in square 1 with my problem.

Any Suggestions/Advice/Insights would be greatly appreciated.
