Can't map certain folders or access NAS in file explorer

I have just upgraded to win8 pro 64 and having major issues.

I upgraded from win 7 so it kept all my program's and settings. I had my synology ds209 NAS video, music a d download folder mapped to access through file explorer and it all worked perfectly. Since the upgrade I can access music and video fine but not the download folder??

If I try and map it again it does t even see my NAS under network but it appears under computer as a media device!

    Anyone got any ideas?

After you've mapped the Network drive, have a look at your music folder and look at the permissions, you'll see they're different to the download folder. Set the permissions on your download folder to match those on the music folder, hopefully that works.

I've been thinking, that if the above doesn't work, try to create a new library folder called something like downloads2 on the NAS.

I had already tried copying the permissions but it didnt work.

Will try making a new folder and mapping that but the download is a set folder within the NAS OS so I have to use it!

Yes but if you make the other folder you can just transfer the files to the new library folder called downloads2, but don't forget, it has to be a library folder to work.

What are you using the download folder for, torrents I presume?

And why is it so important to have that folder mapped, are you using it in XBMC or something.

I use it for setting remote downloads, some torrents and ftp'ing.

It did randomly start working but i reinstalled windows to get ultra fast boot working (now boots in under 10 seconds), and its not anymore!
