I have 3 computers, now all with windows 8 pro and media frontend software xbmc. Not all computers are on all the time, when i turn one one and click on xbmc it is set to immediatley go out over my home network and scan for new media added, now that i have windows 8 on all computers, xbmc cant do this because windows 8 is asking me for a network login and password.
I dont want windows 8 asking me for a network login and password, this prevents xbmc from scanning my network media drives for new things that were added or from just accessing them in general.
I have both a homegroup and workgroup setup, xbmc looks for network media via a windows smb share, whatever that is. I have all advanced sharing options set correctly including no password protection.
perhaps is this the issue, does homegroup networking ask for network login and workgroup would not in windows 8?
thanks
