How to remote connect to a local account?

    Hi geeks.

I need to connect to some other Win 8 Pro rigs using credentials of a local account. I am unable to find how to change default account type as shown in this screenshot:

Remote connections to Microsoft Accounts working as they should, no issues there.

Let's pretend your current PC is named Kari-PC and your username is kari, you would login with this username:

    Kari-PC\kari

You can go to Control Panel -> User Accounts and then click on manage user accounts. From that window, you can see the "domain" name and user name. Then it's basically using "domain\user", even though it may not be an actual windows domain.

    Thanks.

This is one of those Darwin Awards moments...

I am quite experienced in remote connections, but this one was a like blind spot for me, tryong to login to my wife's local account on her laptop. I didn't even try to use ComputerName\Username as user, I just read the Domain: MicrosoftAccount and gave up.

Of course it works as it should.
