    Error when resetting tcp/ip stack


    Hi,
    Had this problem after using advanced system care,it screwed up my whole pc.Did a reset and refresh through the window 8 ulilities but problem still persist.After resetting the pc,resetting tcp/ip stack success once but failed onwards after rebooting.Is this normal or something is wrong with pc?

    Try using the commands below, just the part in bold.

    netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

    netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)

    only netsh winsock reset cataloge reset succesfully,netsh int ip reset reset.log hit reset failed.

    If you are still having problems run this file which will reset everything network related and it will reboot your machine.

    Have you tried running the sfc/scannow command?

    Please post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all if you are still having problems after that.

    Thanks for the reply,
    already tried sfc/scannow before resetting my window 8,error still there.Run that file you gave to me and rebooted my machine,problem still persist.Here's my ipconfig/all:

    This shows the Qualcomm adaptor as being connected with a valid IP.

    Did you have a third party Anti Virus software installed?

    I don't know what advanced system care is but most of those programs end up causing problems.

    Usually the reset or refresh will fix these types of problems.

    yup,i have avast!antivirus free edition installed.I also wonder why nothing seems to fix this problem even after i did a reset on the pc..still getting access denied ,resetting failed error when resetting the tcp/ip stack.

    You will need to uninstall Avast using the special tool they have for this.

    Pretty much all third party Av's have been causing connection problems on certain systems with Windows 8, no idea why this is.

    Actually the access is denied because you do not have permission to access C:\Windows\system32\netsh.exe. So if you really want to do this you will have to gain ownership of the process by right-clicking the netsh.exe and going to properties and permissions. Tha´t all!
