    Home network

Have a Dell Latitude ST slate.

Loaded Win 8 Beta...did some tweaking everything worked great.
Loaded Win 8 Consumer preview.. Same thing, few tweaks everything worked.
Loaded Win 8 Pro....n-trig pen won't work(touch works great) , can connect to my network (wi-fi) at work bet cannot connect to my home network, "can not connect to this network".
The machine sees the network, and the ssid, but can not connect. Why?

Maybe you need updated modem driver or firmware. What are the component of your network? How are you connecting?

Belkin wireless router. Network components all work fine other machines, iPads, Mac and windows machines all connect fine, as did this Tablet with 8 beta and consumer preview, but now with 8 pro I can't connect, the wireless is working because I can connect to the network at work just fine but here at home it sees the network, identifies it but will not connect to it, get message..."can not connect to this network"

As said, maybe you need to update modem driver or firmware for Win8. Is your Win8 shown to be a private network? Is network discovery on? File and printer sharing on? I know that some these things might not be root cause--just getting ducks in a row. What AV are you using? You could disable it at least temporarily. Can you get the Internet wirelessly? Have you tried connecting to your network via Ethernet? Do you see evidence of an "unidentified network?" You could try the LAN troubleshooter/diagnoser.

Which wireless security is your router using? It may help to use WPA2 with AES encryption.

Network running with no security, dont really need it where I am only security is the SSID which is not broadcast the network works fine I connect wirelessly from various other devices. The problem is windows 8 pro. when I first put windows 8 beta on this machine it connected to this network just fine. I then put windows 8 consumer preview on the machine with the same results. But now with the windows 8 pro installed it just will not connect. it sees the network when I try to connect it asks for the SSID, I put in the SSID and it gives me "can not connect to this network" so I broadcasted the SSID and tried to connect same message, tried to connect manually, same result. trouleshooter gives me a great deal of help....It says I am trying to connect to a network I have not connected to before.....Duh.
Something changed between the beta/consumer preview and the Pro versions of 8. As I said the home network is fine, no changes between the beta and the pro versions, the adapter works fine as I can connect to the network where I work.
This has to be an 8 pro issue

All of it and then some, except use a wired connection, I guess I could try that but don't see where that will do anything for me.
As I said, I can connect wirelessly to my work network, but cannot at home but could before with win8 beta and consumer preview,
problem "has" to be with windows 8 pro they changed somthing between the previews and the full version, just cant figure out what, as I said the troubleshooter just tells me I have not connected to this network before, but gives me no answers as to why it won't connect.

Windows 8 in most cases will not connect to an unsecured network because it's not secure.

    Try enabling security.
