Hello :)

So, when I had Windows 7 I downloaded like 6MB/s, but since I upgraded to Windows 8 I'm only getting 2MBs! So, I searched on Google etc and I saw that Windows 8 is using 20% of your download bandwidth, or what ever it was. So, I want to turn it off by searching 'gpedit.msc', for the Group Policy Editor. But the problem is, I can't find 'gpedit.msc', I'm getting an error that it doesn't exists...

Then I went to 'Services' and saw this: http://i.imgur.com/SYeHa.png
The description says something like only admins can use it. (However, I am the admin?)

I really have no idea what to do next. :/

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: not using a laptop btw

Do you have the correct driver for your Ethernet NIC? Windows probably installed a driver but it may not be the best driver. If you have an Intel Ethernet device, go to www.intel.com and download the correct Intel driver. Otherwise, go to the downloads for your PC Vendor or if its a custom built, the motherboard vendor and download the correct Ethernet NIC drivers.

I get the same download speeds on both Win 7 and Win 8 with the same hardware (I have a dual boot system).

What are the components you are using to connect to the internet? Are you connecting via Ethernet,? wirelessly?
