Unable to connect to Wifi Networks at Work

Hi,
I bought a new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 8 installed in it. I'm able to connect to Wifi networks at home but not at work. My laptop has a "Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB EG" WiFi driver installed. I tried to rollback the Wifi drivers and connect but still I'm not able to succeed. Could someone please help me out to solve this issue?

Can you see the network? What happens when you try to connect?

Yes I'm able to see the available networks. But when i try to connect, it takes quite some time saying "Verifying and connecting" and then says "can't connect to the network".

Maybe the connection in your office has the restriction to connect number of users. Try to talk to your network administrator to let you connect to that network.

I think that, at this point, you should talk to others including, your Network Administrator (if one exists), about your connection problem. Your problem sounds like its source is the network, not your coumputer/Win8.

There is no restriction on the number of users. All laptops/mobiles are able to connect to the network.
I found a thread in the internet that says that there is a software incompatibility issue with windows 8 and cisco routers. https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-27213

Did you install the correct driver for your wireless network adapter? There are updated drivers exclusively for windows 8.

Yes the drivers are updated with the latest versions. My laptop has a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network adapter.

Since you are able to connect at home, I still say the source of the problem is the network, not your computer--unless, there is, say, an incompatibility between Win8 and Cisco routers (as you mention). Have you checked to see if anyone else on your office network runs Win8 and connects successfully?
