Tech. Support Scam from India support bases.

I have received a couple of calls, direct. I mean, not by relay from MS or any other organisation. The first I kept talking for about five minutes, thus making them pay, at least, for an overseas phone call. The second I did the same but then decided, enough is enough. I asked if I could have the callers MS ident, as I was (lied) a Microsoft engineer and might wish to contact them later. The caller rang off. That was some months ago.

This IS Netgears support number leading you to these people, they have my former, expired information right in front of them. What they are is a company several companies use. They also pop up when you're trying to find windows help in searches. The whole time, no matter if you're still under support protection current, or not, they will try to sell you a NEW package. They will offer to go inside your computer remotely and fix a problem, and THEN tell you, you need to pay them $200. You don't know not to trust them, Netgears number off your products label sent you to them. Any $40 router company that would try to do this to you is not worth you, paying $10 more for better equipment, and better service...worse i ACTUALLY KNOW PEOPLE WHO DID IT..PAID THEIR RANSOM! That's all your dealing with, a salesman, not a real tech person..once you've paid it's Mai Tai's for the office party...and you still not up and running.

Don't waste your time. International calls are usually free these days. Certainly mine are to most countries I'm likely to call.
