Hi, I built a new windows 8 machine on my network and since then 2 of the 3 other computers on my network lose there connection randomly and will not regain it unless I turn the Windows 8 computer on, one is a vista computer and one is windows 2000 machine. The 3rd computer which is a vista machine is unaffected. I know this is not a lot of information to go on but any suggestions would be appreciated=).

How are these other machines connected to the router?

It sounds like you are using ICS with the requirement to turn on the Windows 8 PC so the other ones can connect.

All are hardwired to it, its a 4 port actiontec mi424wr router, I trusted windows when I installed and didn't do any custom settings so if its that ICS thing it defaulted on somehow. Not even sure where to look to find out if you are right, but ty so far=_)

I'd have to see the ipconfig/all from the machines that are having the problem and the ipconfig/all from the Windows 8 machine would also be helpful. :)
