I recently did a clean install of Windows 8 Professional and for some reason when I disable "Wake only on magic packet" under the power management options of my NIC, it will return to default (enabled) after a restart. Mind you that when I uncheck it manually, everything works as it should, however if just doesn't want to retain this setting after a shutdown/reboot. My concern is that if I forget to uncheck this after a reboot, then I will not be able to remotely wake my computer over WAN since my router doesn't support this - which is why I have both magic packet and pattern match enabled in the advanced settings...
Any help is appreciated!
