Today the laptop with 8 suddenly cant find my home network, not available in win8 or in the inssider program. I can see others, but not mine.

Tried deleting the profile, netsh wlan delete profile “profile name” then add it again but no go.

So, i started another laptop with a fresh win 8 install. It finds the wireless at logon and works for 5 minutes before the network icon in the tray gets the white "star". Home ssid again not available over networks.

So, on to the third laptop with win8 and it find the network and so long its working after 30 minutes.

security is wpa2-personal, and alone using the channel number.
Router is dlink 615 with dd-wrt.

Any ideas why the home network suddenly has vanished?

Does the computer that connects, but loses it connection sooner, have an adequate signal compared with the other one that connects and stays connected longer--perhaps still working. Is Inssider on the second machine. Does it continuously show the SSID? How do the signal strengths compare on Inssider when it is available on both machines? What happens if you move the computers closer to the router?

the laptops were in the same place as always, was just like the ssid vanished from two of them. Worked on another laptop with win 8 and one on win7.

Deleted the ssid-rebooted-manually added the ssid -rebooted and it came back for now.

Dont like the option of not easily managing the connected\stored networks in win 8.

You can manage them the old way through Desktop > Control Panel. You can add Control Panel to your Desktop the usual way--right click on Desktop and choose Personalize.
