I'm having this problem with my laptop just this morning. The wireless adapter freezes, when I say freezes, I meant that the adapter just, froze, even pressing it won't turn it off. When I start Windows, internet would work fine, but after a while, the internet connection would stop, because of the adapter. If I try to restart it, it will restart, but, it just keeps loading, I mean, it gets stuck at "Restarting", because the adapter froze. What I do is, just hold the power button, then turn the pc back on, everything will be fine, then the problem will reoccur.
All of these happened when my pc lost connection to the internet due to the router failing, I restarted the router then these happened. Hoping to get a quick response from you guys. I'm currently backing-up my important files in case my only solution will be re-installing Windows 8.
Thanks.
