Laptop Wireless Adapter Freezing

I'm having this problem with my laptop just this morning. The wireless adapter freezes, when I say freezes, I meant that the adapter just, froze, even pressing it won't turn it off. When I start Windows, internet would work fine, but after a while, the internet connection would stop, because of the adapter. If I try to restart it, it will restart, but, it just keeps loading, I mean, it gets stuck at "Restarting", because the adapter froze. What I do is, just hold the power button, then turn the pc back on, everything will be fine, then the problem will reoccur.

All of these happened when my pc lost connection to the internet due to the router failing, I restarted the router then these happened. Hoping to get a quick response from you guys. :) I'm currently backing-up my important files in case my only solution will be re-installing Windows 8.

Thanks.

What kind of wireless adapter do you have?

Does device manager show it to be working properly? Can you connect to the Internet temporarily using Ethernet to run the Windows 8 upgrade assistant and see if it finds problems with your adapter.

I already re-installed Windows 8, had some of my old apps re-installed as well, though this time, it's a bit different. Now, the adapter only freezes, but still has internet access, making restart impossible since it can't turn off the wireless adapter, unlike from earlier, the adapter enables internet access for a little while then shows "No Internet Access". I tried with the Dual booted Windows 7 on the same laptop, seems to be running smoothly.

[edit] On the device manager, it says it works properly.

Darn. Maybe you need to replace the adapter or buy a wireless dongle or card.

I see, thanks for the help, I'll try to get my laptop checked soon for a replacement part.
