Hi,
since I upgraded to Win 8 from win7 x64 ultimate I am having continual problems with my internet connection.
I am running Win 8 on an ASUS P8Z77V-Deluxe, Intel 3770K, Belkin Router.
The internet is connecting via the Intel Gigabit LAN (Realtek and WLAN are disabled).
The problem is a little bit strange and has only shown up after installing Win 8.
I can connect to the internet and load up my home page - Google usually, I can do this regardless with any browser I have, Firefox, IE. and Safari, the home page loads.
I can browse without problems for various periods of time and then, out of the blue I cannot access any pages other than the top level of say Google - if I click on a link all I get is "waiting for google" nothing loads. I get no timeouts, nothing just a continuous "waiting"
If I try to open my router home page / setup using my 192.168.2.1 it just sits there, doesn't open doesn't hang, just sits there the same - waiting!
I go to adapter settings and network troubleshooting and Win 8 detects nothing to be a problem.
The only way I can get things to work again is to shutdown and restart, then everything is fine for what could be 30 minutes or 2 days, it is totally random.
The strange thing is that google works, I can type in a search and it will load up the search results but I cannot get any of the links to load, nor address the router page. Do you think this is a router issue or a Win 8 problem?
Thanks!
