I followed the following steps on windows 8
1. Everything working I can ping Google
2. Create new incoming vpn network
3. I can no longer use DNS pings to outside addresses don't work although the router still seems to be the DNS server and I can use DNS from another machine on the network including from a vm running on the same machine
4 nslookup to internal and external addresses give a no response from server error
5 Delete the vpn connection and everything works again
My network settings for the pc are all automatic (although I have tried statically setting the ip etc as well)
The settings for the VPN are simply no tcpv6 tcp 4 has a range of ip addresses
I can connect to the VPN from an external network
I have tried turning off the windows firewall but this had no effect nslookup still failed
Any clues how to fix?
