I had some SSDs installed into my laptop and had windows 8 cloned from the factory HD to the SSD by the geek squad, they showed me that everything worked, had windows update, then sent me home with it. Once I got home the wifi didnt work! It connects to my router but theres a yellow exclamation mark ad it says no internet access. Other devices work on the router except for my computer (Asus G75). Any solutions? Yes ive tried the troubleshooter, ive tried disablnig and reenabling.

If you have any third party security, uninstall it and see whether it fixes the problem.

can you open up the commandprompt and type 'tracert google.com' and post the results here? This way we'll be able to see where things are going wrong.

Try uninstalling any windows updates installed on the 14/11 or after, they seem to have messed up my Internet as well, I have uninstalled them all and watching, it looks better than with them installed.

There are lots of firmware options for many older routers using the DD-WRT firmware or the Tomato firmware's. They actually improve the performance of those old routers and bring them back up to date. Google it and see if your router qualifies.

Indeed, DD-WRT normally adds more functionality than a router had before, give it a try once!
