Internet Sending request (Slow Internet)

  1. #11

All good ! no more sending request issues after ten minutes of internet use. Thank you so much for the help, I really owe you one. Just out of curiosity is there a way to give off a wifi signal through a wired connection? or should i just use wireless tether on my android for that solution?

I arrived here with same issue, slow downloads with windows 8. I am also using connectify pro but I disagree with the statement that connectify is only wifi. The pro version which I have allows you to set up a wifi hotspot on the PC, and send that data through the cable network to the router, and I have had this set up for months with windows 7 working at very high speed. Now that I am on windows 8, I am getting less than half the speed through the internet LAN connection from my PC and that's without having connectify turned on. Interesting I read about Chrome having problems, and using speedtest.net firefox gives 26ms ping, and chrome gives 500ms ping. Both firefox and chrome give the same less than half speed download.

I figured that leaving the wireless network would clear up the problem. With more info I could have solved this with the first post.

I was trying to think of a way to set this up through Ethernet although it would probably require some experimentation with static IP's, subnet's etc. being typed into the IPv4 properties of the Ethernet adaptor. Maybe the connectify pro version can work for this. You might even find a way to do this using Google search for Hosted wireless network through Ethernet connection.

As it stands the connectify software and in general, hosted wireless networks aren't meant to be shared through an Ethernet connection, which is really lame because if you already have a wireless access point why on earth would someone need to created a hosted wireless network in the first place.

Yes it is, as I said I've been using connectify pro like this for months. The reason to do this is if you want to use a VPN or proxy on the PC which the router does not handle and you can tunnel/bridge it across the wifi to lan connection on the PC.

Well apparently the free version can't or it should have worked don't you think? How much is the Pro version?

The Op was trying to share out the Ethernet connection through the Virtual adaptor and create a hosted wireless network that way. You just mentioned tunneling through the wireless connection to the Ethernet port which is the opposite of what the Op was attempting to accomplish.

I won't get into the fact that the original complaint was that the Op was having a bad connection problem and never even mentioned that he was trying to use connectify to set up an uncommon and also unsupported network through his Ethernet connection.

Nothing on the connectify web site says anything about this type of connection. It also clearly states that it's made to share out a wireless connection, not wired.

I only mentioned what the software was for and how it was supposed to be used.

I did mention that it may be possible to set up a hosted wireless connection through Ethernet though it would require some manual input.

I should also mention that you don't need to use the connectify software at all in order to set up a hosted wireless network, it's just a User interface to make it a bit easier for some people to set up.

You can use simple commands to set up a hosted wireless connection though these commands are definitely not for sharing an Ethernet connection to a Virtual wireless adaptor. The link below shows you the commands.

It's interesting how obvious the answer to the question becomes when somebody has already answered it. I'd also like to see anyone else decipher that mess of an ipconfig/all and figure out exactly what is going on just by looking at it.

I was using the Pro version as well, and my nexus 7 got a perfect signal, but caused the issues on the computer that was broadcasting the signal. It worked fine through ethernet on seven but for some reason causes problems on 8. Not too much of a problem though
