My function key for wireless won't work :( FN + F2 (antenna) Won't activate my wifi.
In 'Change my PC Settings' The WiFi option is just grey and unable to be changed.
All my other function keys will work except for the wifi one :/ Is there any other sort of way I could enable wifi?

Also cabled connections work.

Try updating your wireless driver, check to make sure your WiFi is enabled as well:

To do that, go to: Network and Sharing Center.
Then, click on: Change Adapter Settings.
Check if your WiFi is enabled, if not: Right click on your WiFi and click on Enable.

Done all of those, disabled the adapter and reenabled it already, My function key seems to work during boot logo but then switch off at login screen and become unusable.

Fully updated drivers which are compatible with windows 8

Some things changed, I can turn on my wireless during the boot logo but I will see a black screen so I turned it off during the black screen and then went into sleep mode and back, No more awkward black screen :) and now i am somehow able to turn on the wireless but i am not gonna call this a major fix as I still needa press 4 buttons to get it working each time i boot up.

I am having the same problem in that my wifi will not turn on. I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop and should be able to hit the f12 button to turn the wifi in and off. It is currently turned off and I cannot turn it on.

I have fixed the problem on my HP Pavilion. It was with the BIOS update I installed last week. I rolled the BIOS back and my wireless turns on and off as it should. Who would have thought. Please pass along to anyone experiencing the same issues.

I was searching for a solution for this problem a very long time.
Now I found a workaround for my Medion Erazer. After upgrading to Windows8 my function keys didn't seem to work properly.
I tried everything and finally found out, that the PHotkey Software wasn't running.
So to fix it i had to go to Program Files(x86)/PHotkey and start PHotkey.exe in Win7 compatibility mode.
