GIVING this remedy a shot. so far its working as directed. I am taking ownership of the c:\windows folder, from the factory 'trustedinstaller' AKA best buy....so I can edit files in the systems32 folder. or change permissions.
Attempting to change READ ONLY PERMISSIONS on c drive/windows folders
REASON to EDIT HOSTS file in c/windows/system32/drivers/etc folder
windows folder is READ ONLY
FAILED TO CHANGE PERMISSIONS with Default ADMIN acct.
DISCOVERED that the C: Drive was owned by the factory default installer...
