I have done all of the diagnostic tests and all passed except the Hard drive. I have now ordered a new drive and going to do a clean install. Can anyone tell me how long this should take please?

Hi all, Does anyone have the following issue with the touch pointer in Windows 8? Sometimes while not touching the touch pad on my laptop the pointer will suddenly jump to a different part of the screen or web page. This is not a major issue just a little annoying, it doesn't do it all the time...

Quick update, I have now received the back up DVD. The package includes 2 dvd's one for 32 Bit and one for 64 bit.

I emailed them and the email bounced, so I rang them and they are re sending the DVD. The order is posted from Germany for UK deliveries.

Now nearly 3 weeks since I ordered back up DVD and still nothing. Checked the order and they say it was dispatched two days after ordering. I've just emailed Microsoft to ask what is happening.

Thanks again Brink, so glad i found this forum :) I will get rid of the Windows.old file later. Reading about the VC_RED folder, it seems to contain some of the windows 8 Installation files, although its not that big only 1.83 MB

Hi Brink, Is it ok to delete the Windows.old folder? When I did the upgrade It asked if I wanted to leave any files, I answered with Leave nothing but it still created the Windows.old folder. Also what is VC_RED on C drive please?

Thank you all, I downloaded the Upgrade file and installed last night and it took about 3 hours from start of download to finishing the install. I am now going to take probably a lot longer to learn how to use it:D. Like the look of it so far though. Ummagumma.

How long does it take to download windows 8 64 bit approximately please? I have 10MB Broadband. Ummagumma
