Hi...been a while but I still have the same issue of losing half the 8.1 Windows sounds...it happens on a weekly basis...and have to un-install Soundmax driver and re-install ,reboot and all is well again...this does not happen in Windows 10 and they both share the same PC...it's not very...

O.k...done I changed the Fast Start-up in Windows 10 and system booted to boot menu...thanks for the help.*john;)

Oh Really?...ok I will look into that...I guess my Windows 10 are set to 'Fast start-up'...they are always the last system running....thanks will check it out.*john:)

Hi...I have six windows systems and have a boot menu created with EasyBCD...the Pc gives me the options to choose which system I want apon Pc restart...however when shutting down PC and then Starting up the PC goes to the previous system and not to the boot menu...so I have to 'Restart' to get...

I don't know how frequently but did you check your 'Taskbar Properties'...right click taskbar>properties>navigation> now make sure under 'Start screen' the "When I sign in" box is selected.*john

I've been having some of my windows sounds not work for some reason...so I uninstalled the realtek driver ...restarted computer...and reset audio device to default and all sounds are back again,...for how long?...I don't know...works now....Thanks for the tip!.*john

Solved Hi....thanks...I figured that now...I was told in the past that Windows 8 does not have "sleep" mode on PC's exept Laptops....anyways...sometimes trial and error gives unexpected results...and I'm glad to be rid of that basic display adapter driver...thanks for your help guys...see...

Hello...I had the issue of not getting rid of "Microsoft basic display adapter"...could not find a driver which Windows 8 would support ...so I gave up and spent $40. on a new video card....now I have adjustable screen resolution and most importantly now I can mirror my computer to my large TV...
