Input Method - Set Default Language in Windows 8

Thanks for this. I had a problem where Win8 would always assume that my keyboard layout is the same as my input language, and not forget the keyboard layout until reboot. I want an English display language but a Japanese input language. I have now over-ridden the input language of the English...

    Icons look jagged and crude

    >Is this some kind a dpi resolution thing? It could be imho. You could right click on the desktop, choose screen resolution from the menu, and change the resolution to see if that helps.

    Solved Keyboard layout?

    Solved Keyboard layout?

Oh dear. My keyboard died. I connected another keyboard and again my Japanese keyboard seems to being recognised as an English keyboard so that the things printed on my keyboard (and my typing skills) do not match the characters that are produced. E.g. shift 2 produces an @ mark rather than the...

    Solved Keyboard layout?

Thank you! Now my keyboard settings match the markings on my Japanese keyboard. Shift 2 gives " and the @ key prints an @! It was driving me around the bend. By the way, to others with this problem, one can get to the "PC Settings" by Windows Key C > Settings
