Windows Store Error - 0x80244022 - Unable to purchase apps

Good to know I'm not alone :p I'm guessing a recent update caused an issue. I haven't downloaded any apps from the Windows Store for a while, so I can't say when it started.

Windows Store Error - 0x80244022 - Unable to purchase apps

Having a little trouble here with downloading apps from the store. I'm getting an error: "Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code: 0x80244022". This is for a free app. I've Googled and very little comes up. I've performed the Windows Store Reset as well as the...

A quick Windows 8 Desktop discussion...

No, but they do have that glossy finish to them.

I'm going to challenge all you Win8 haters...

People buy a Windows PC to run Windows applications. If I buy a Windows tablet it will be to run Windows applications that I can't run on other tablet platforms. This rules out the ARM tablets as they'll only run Metro apps, therefore my tablet would have to run Windows 7 or Windows 8. But if...

A quick Windows 8 Desktop discussion...

That's fine, as long as the operating system matches the most commonly used input method which on a desktop PC will almost always be a keyboard and mouse.

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

Right clicking, keyboard shortcuts, etc.. all require more clicks/effort than simply single-clicking a QuickLaunch icon. Tabs in IE? Sure, but I'm on a multi monitor system and I like having multiple windows open. Occasionally I have to run IE64 in one window and IE32 bit in another because...

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

I hate the Windows 7 taskbar, always have and always will. Pinned applications make no sense to me - you want more than one Explorer window open? Clicking the icon minimizes the one that's open. Want to open a second IE window? Clicking "E" again just minimizes IE. Senseless. I don't care...

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

And I use the favorites bar in IE along with Office 2003. Heaven forbid I find something that works the way I want it to  But, go ahead, buy into the "latest and greatest" that gets rammed down your throat. I'll still be sitting here with a workflow that works for me. :)

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

Metro might be good for touch in a media consumption environment, but it sucks for getting any real work done. Unless of course you're a self proclaimed "blogger" and your "job" is to post Twitbook updates all day. For me, it just gets in the way.

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

The Quicklaunch bar is also always visible, just like pinned programs. I don't like a cluttered taskbar, I just want it to show what is running. I don't like looking at a row of icons wondering if the program is running or if it's just a shortcut. I find the default Windows 7 taskbar to be...

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

Sort of, except I didn't like the pinning. There's something unnatural about clicking on a running program to start another instance of it.

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

Well you can see with that many applications on my system why I'd not want to be confined to the tiny little Start menu in Vista and 7. Sorted alphabetically it works perfectly, and with the program I found that does the cascading programs menu, moving the mouse off the last flyout doesn't make...

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

I don't like the pinned icons on the taskbar either. First modification I do to Windows 7: Shrink the oversized taskbar with small icons, get rid of the silly pinning and restore the QuickLaunch menu for a few things I want access to quickly such as IE, the snipping tool, and my Asus Xonar...

Let's have a massive discussion about Windows 8

    1) There's NO need for a "touch friendly" interface on a desktop PC or laptop that will be used primarily with a Keyboard and Mouse. Metro might be nice on a tablet/slate PC, but for most users who are familiar and comfortable with the way Windows has been for many many years, this will be an...

Will Windows 8 Work Out For The Average PC User?

Not really - they're forcing users into a full screen "start menu" which is more clutter than anything. They've made it so that the conventional "Explorer" shell is rarely used, and difficult to use when you get into it. As for Win7 on a tablet - I see absolutely nothing wrong with it if...
