You were on the right track with compatibility mode but you also need to run it in a window and disable sounds. It seems to run fine like that, though I personally refuse to play without sound...
I'll bump this one last time, as I have put the laptop out of commission for now, since I now have a 2nd desktop in the house, but I still would like to know why this happened, if anyone ever figures it out...
Well I just solved my issue. Apparently you guys were right and I had to move it to another port. Thing is, at first I only tried my top 3, not my bottom remaining 2. (hdd is in 1 of 3) So it seems a whole row of sata ports just doesn't work for me and I just never moved the plug enough times...
In my case, unlikely. My hdd is SATA and right next to where the DVD drive is hooked in... But who knows, maybe you're right. It seems though it's primarily LG drives that have my problem...
EDIT: You just might be on to something! I just discovered it's only my top 3 sata ports that are not...
Interesting development! I had the same issue with a version of Monday Night Combat I was "trying out" before I buy it and to fix it I just had to delete a specific .ini file....
Course RF:G doesn't have much in terms of inis but it does seem to imply some kind of bad configuration somewhere...
My specs aren't complete because I am having issues with 2 different computers.
The RF:G comp is as follows:
Windows 8 CP 32-bit
Amd Athlon II 240 2.80GHz x2
Nvidia Geforce GT 520 2GB
3.5 GB DDR2 Ram
750GB Hdd WD Scorpio Blue
Asus M4N78 Pro Motherboard
Interestingly enough, a modified version of the launcher (illegitimate) allows me to play the game (this then cancels the ability to sign into GFWL though, as the modified file is not meant to use the feature...)
