    Windows 8 Major Improvements

I hope it doesn't get bloated. With Windows 7 they removed most of the bloat added in Vista and left over from XP but the more features are requested the easier it is to lose sight of that. I don't think they will though, their server products continue to get lighter.

    Windows 8 x64 only?

I think and hope it will be x64 only. They've already gone that route on Windows Server and several of their server products. Think back to 8-bit versus 16-bit (well this argument is still going on for embedded devices). It has to be done sometime, the sooner the better in terms of advancement.

What would you like to see in Windows 8?

I guess I take a more idealogical stance. If it doesn't have drivers for over one generation of OS than it is time to get a new device. By the time Windows 8 is here USB3 will be mainstream. If I'm attached to an older device than I won't upgrade my OS. Just my opinion though, I understand...

What would you like to see in Windows 8?

With Office 2010 x64 I see a lot more general users, not just enthusiasts, going x64. Even corporations like Cisco and Adobe who made a stink about not releasing x64 software are starting to. At some point Microsoft will need to go full x64 as the general user will have a hard time knowing to...

What would you like to see in Windows 8?

Why would you want that? Windows 8 will be three generations ahead. If your hardware or software doesn't support at least Windows 7 then time to get something new or simply don't upgrade. Having to mantain backwards compatibility for so long will only hinder an operating system.

    Feedback and fixes

A suggestion, similar to what you've done on the Chrome OS forums, could you create a section for Microsoft Beta Products that could tie into Windows 8. Particularly I'd like to see an area for - Gazelle - Microsoft Cloud OS - Azure Btw, All of the above could end up being the same...

    Welcome to Eight Forums

It is hit or miss unfortanetely. Some of the programs\betas\alpha will put a registration link in their connect profile (https://connect.microsoft.com/directory/) while others will send you e-mails with a registration link. For example I'm part of about 93 "connections". I noticed the more...

What would you like to see in Windows 8?

Me too. I'd like a cloud service for user profiles and Azure based applications. (If you haven't checked out Azure registration is open for your personal site, I'm actually moving Yammm to it.) Support for self hosted Azure services and cloud storage as well. (Basically improved WHS...

What would you like to see in Windows 8?

I'd like to see this as well but it is a very delicate game Microsoft has to play when introducing features that 3rd party companies hold a monetary share in. Personally I think it is ridiculous that they can't as long as there is the option to uninstall\disable the feature.

    Welcome to Eight Forums

/wave Alpha builds of Windows 8 are already circulating at MS but they are far worse than Windows 7 at the moment, older forks basically. We should see some alphas and invites in about six months. If you do want to be an official tester make sure to registry at Microsoft Connect if you...

What would you like to see in Windows 8?

    - Libraries' expanded to network locations (some workarounds in W7 but at a performance loss) - Improved Home Group functionality (I run a domain so I don't care too much but would be nice for the friends\family that end up calling me for help)
