I am able to pin MS Excel or MS Outlook to the task bar by any of the three methods. You and see and use the newly pinned shortcuts as long as you do not shut down you PC. If you turn off the PC/Laptop the icon is still on the taskbar but it comes back with an error message that it can not find...
