Thanks for input, but as noted in the original post, the Win7 installation is legit and OK.

Bought a used HP laptop that originally had Win7 Ultimate, and the previous owner had split the hard drive into two partitions and put Win8 Pro on the second partition. The boot up process is controlled by Win8 and you select at startup whether you want to go to Win7 or Win8. Pretty neat. BUT...

4.) Obtain a genuine key for Windows 8 Pro ... (PS don't forget to find the guy you bought it from and kick his ass...!) Will an OEM license from TigerDirect work OK?
