Very small chance but you may try opening notepad to see if the doc is there, also use the Windows search to find " My Downloads"
If no joy you can try safe mode please read carefully before going into safe mode ( in safe mode you cannot access the internet )...
Do you remember what type of document this was, Office, Notepad, other ? Are you sure you saved it ? Do you use Cloud ? Is there a USB devise plugged in ? Have you tried Recuva , EaseUS, or Search in Safe Mode ?
Right click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner, click search, type in the title of the doc and hit enter. Hope this helps you.

As I just said on the Ten forums the mandatory updates make me wary, 1: because of Windows Updates that have caused issues in the past and 2: I wonder if Microsoft will install bloatware to make up for the free upgrade.
I've been reading that some versions of Windows 10 will not offer the option to delay or turn off Updates. You can schedule when the updates install so I guess that is a way to delay ?
