    Unusually High "Hardware Reserved" Memory

Ah, I should have elaborated. And it appears the OP doesn't have the same issue. After re-reading their post they state, as least in my understanding, that the BIOS sees the full amount of RAM. :o So I'll wrap the below in 'Quote' in case anyone stumbles upon this topic, as I did, searching for...

    Unusually High "Hardware Reserved" Memory

Take out all the sticks and put just one in the DIMM 1 slot and boot into the BIOS/UEFI. Repeat this until you find the stick that's faulty. -IF- The above yields no bad sticks then begin repopulating the DIMM slots. Booting into BIOS/UEFI each time you add a stick. You'll likely find that...

[BSoD] Windows 8.1 - On Power Down (Restart or Shutdown)

UPDATE: I haven't had any BSoD, but then I've only initiated a power down sequence twice. This last one still took a fairly long time to power down, roughly 35 seconds....on a SSD. I'm not sure if the BSoD error code, or lack of, was stated in the Windows Debugger. But it's a Driver Power...

[BSoD] Windows 8.1 - On Power Down (Restart or Shutdown)

Hmm, I see...I think. Deleting that driver breaks the DVD. Edit And I'm a fool for not saying my Mobo. MOBO: EVGA X58 Classified so...Intel's latest drivers won't work for me. ...found 11.7.4.1001, Intel's latest drivers that still support the X58

[BSoD] Windows 8.1 - On Power Down (Restart or Shutdown)

Double checking: For Intel we're talking about the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) RAID Driver Correct? I don't have an issue with the DVD drive not reading disc. I'm hesitant about deleting drivers that appear to have been shipped with the Windows 8 installation. (I've never...

File History Warning Event ID 204

One thing to also note, File History has an odd habit of NOT copying (because it doesn't actually 'backup' just copies; no compression) all of the files it's suppose to. My ~330GB of Music only has ~280GB in the File History under the 'driver letter folder'. The rest may be in the '$OF' folder...

[Question] Windows 8.1 'File History'; '$OF' Folder

I decided to give W8.1's 'File History' a try because I'm tired of Acronis TIH orphaning incremental backups (I doubt it was fixed in 2014 edition). The problem is I have a folder '$OF' that has many files in it with the naming convention of: 4593 (2013_11_09 21_33_36 UTC).mp3 -Of course each...

[Issue] Windows 8 on Dual Monitor & Gaming

Sounds like the game is not detecting the native screen resolution and defaulting to a default (usually 1280x768 [or there abouts] or 1024x768). The simply solution, if you're describing what often happens to me upon playing a freshly installed game, is to go and set the game to use the native...

[Issue] Windows 8 on Dual Monitor & Gaming

I assume you're running Windows 8? I didn't have this issue with Windows 7 and the same hardware. If it's happening on Windows 7, you'll have to unplug the monitor you DO NOT want the software to display on). I say unplug because the mouse cursor will be locked to the 'Primary Monitor' so...

[Issue] Windows 8 on Dual Monitor & Gaming

HP: HDMI to DVI (adapter) Benq: DVI to DVI (straight) Onkyo: HDMI to HDMI (for 8 channel audio only, no video) (straight) Surprisingly, the HP shipped with a VGA and HDMI cable. You have to remember this was back when everything was shipping with just VGA cables or no cables. So to have them...

[Issue] Windows 8 on Dual Monitor & Gaming

HP w2207h comes with a HDMI port and a VGA port. The Benq comes with a DVI port and a VGA port. And I don't have extra adapters. ...I'd really like to know what the hell Microsoft changed I'll also ask Ubi...maybe they got a patch being worked on or something :\

[Issue] Windows 8 on Dual Monitor & Gaming

Nope, still shows up on the other monitor... As I said, this didn't happen at all in Windows 7 and I'm even running the same Driver Set (306.97). It's clearly something in Windows 8. So far I've: -Merged Benq and Onkyo -Merged HP and Onkyo -Switched Cables *Note: I can't merge HP and Benq as...

[Issue] Windows 8 on Dual Monitor & Gaming

Twin EVGA GTX 670. When mounted in the case the DVI-I is above the DVI-D. As it stands now: HDMI Port: Onkyo A/V Receiver* DVI-I Port: HP w2207h (Main Display) DVI-D Port: Benq G2420HDBL (Second Display) Display Options: Onkyo and Benq merged ( 1|3 @ 1920x1080). This was done because I had to...
