    yahoo mail and MTU problem

There is this peculiar problem I'm facing with MTU settings. I'm using PPPoE with wifi enabled on Windows 8.1. Couple of months back: * ADSL MTU setting was promptly set to 1492 (8 bytes for PPPoE header discounted). All of a sudden, yahoo mail was not accessible. When I tried...

Win Update not recognizing shutdown from start icon

I did try the Start icon -> Shutdown or signout -> Restart. In this case the updates are installed. The problem is only when shutdown is done. This is problem only in Win8 and 8.1. It was not present in Win7 and earlier versions.

Win Update not recognizing shutdown from start icon

Version: 8.1, 8.1.1 This issue has been for quite sometime. Not sure if anyone else too faced this. When updates from windows-updated are installed (which requires reboot), the "Restart now" button appears after installation. However, I decided not to restart at that time. After completing my...

    Solved BSOD:system_exception_thread_not_handled & bad_pool_caller

OK - here is the latest SF zip. All the dumps point to only one: RealTek card reader RtsP2Stor.sys. There is one dump on WLAN driver - but thats not during boot up. It happened in-between things and is one-off occurrence I guess.

    Solved BSOD:system_exception_thread_not_handled & bad_pool_caller

Anshad, Thanks a ton. After uninstalling PCIe card reader the boot time BSOD is gone for two days now. However I'm now facing different issue. Most likely the wlan is dependent on PCIe card reader and my wifi gone kaput after uninstall of PCIe card. The driver you suggested - PCIE...

    Solved BSOD:system_exception_thread_not_handled & bad_pool_caller

Hi all, Recently updated win 8 to 8.1 and a week later on, I'm getting BSOD on bootup. Initially I got system_exception_thread_not_handled and in automatic repair it rolled back few of the installed updates. But no use. Now, sometimes I get system_exception_thread_not_handled and...

    Solved system_exception_thread_not_handled

I have similar issue and I see same problem reported by quite some people. I don't think its RAM issue for its affecting so many people. I sometimes get system_exception_thread_not_handled and sometimes bad_pool_caller. I boot once with safe-boot and restart and boot normally it works...
