I've resolved the problem. Apparently the "Reset" option which rolls back all of the apps and settings I was using on the HP did not fix it but the "Recovery" option that reformats the hard drive does.

Yes, it did have Norton's on it but I used the Norton's removal tool to uninstall. Is there something specific that Norton's breaks that I can fix or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

I have an HP that I cannot get to activate. I did a clean install and my login is an admin. I deselected installing Norton's during the reset but it was there when I booted up so I removed it with the Norton's removal tool. I tried activating by using the "Windows activation" from the search...
