Is Windows 8.1 that much different from Windows 8? That machine had Windows 8 on it.

The Windows 8.1 installer is crashing and it doesn't matter if the HDD has Windows on it or not.

I have tried to install on to a drive with Windows 8 and a drive without. I have set the boot order so the USB flash drive is first so the Windows 8.1 installer will run. The HDD is set to boot second.

Hi werty, Thanks for the reply, but that's not the problem I'm having. The computer is rebooting BEFORE the installation. The installer crashes before it writes anything to the hard drive.
