I've run hardware checks on my hard drive and memory sticks. The hard drive passed and both sticks went through 15 passes without any errors. I uninstalled the sound card and physically removed it. Since then, I've had numerous crashes. From reviewing the dump files, it appears all recent...
I was able to successfully change the start values back to 3 without crashing the system, but the BSOD's continue. The processors are no longer disabled. I'm going to try to update the firmware for the 680i sli now to see if that helps.
I've attached the dump file from tonight. The setting for current control set is 4. I will update it to 3 after I take the precautions and let you know what happened.
Last thing for now. I went through all of my devices and determined nvstor.sys appears to be the driver for my motherboard, which is a NVidia 680i SLI. I have driver version 10.6.0.22 dated 9-12-11. When I go to the NVidia website to try to update the driver, it indicates the most recent...
Well I've tried updating the drivers, but I've had 4 BSOD's in the last hour. I updated to the latest Broadcomm driver, but it was not compatible and disabled the device. I had to roll back to the old one just to get back on to the internet. I've updated to the Creative Software with a...

The Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant is in the process. When I took a closer look at the drivers for the disabled processors, I recognized the value intelppm. In a previous threat where I asked for help, I was instructed to follow the below steps. That may have disabled the processors.
your dump...
I did not disable the processor and do not know why it is disabled. They were not disabled last week when I began updating drivers. I've had Win 8 since shortly after the public release and this is the 1st time I've seen that. I'm in the process of doing the hard drive diagnostic and will post...
I repeatedly get random BSOD's. Sometimes they occur when I'm not using the computer and can happen several times in one day. Some days I don't get any. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to when or why they occur. I posted a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything back...
I used to prior to updating to Windows 8. I don't believe I installed any. I did a search for Roxio but couldn't locate any files or folders currently on my hard drive.
I got home from work and checked my computer. It looks like it crashed twice this morning. I've attached the most recent dump file. Thanks for the help so far, hopefully we can try to whittle down the issues.
I read through the files and noticed what you were talking about. I disabled that process as you described. Hopefully that'll fix the problem or at least point to another possible problem. I'll post any updates if I get another BSOD. Thanks for all the help.
Okay, I've updated the audio driver and the BIOS through Dell. Also, I misspoke regarding the web browser.. it's IE 10 rather than IE8. I had another crash shortly after updating the audio driver and BIOS. I've attached the most recent crash log. I'm still going through various drivers to...
I updated that driver this morning as I tried to update all drivers shortly after my original post. That seemed to fix the major problem, but I have had 1 crash since then. According to whocrashed, I got a hal.sys error. I've attached a more recent dump file that should reflect that crash as...
I've received 6 BSOD's this morning while I've tried to get together enough information to submit this request for help. All have been of the watchdog type. The attached log has the first four BSOD's, but frustration prevented me from obtaining a more recent one. These have all occurred...
