No sorry I'll start again, about a year ago I upgraded to windows 8, and I just used my windows.old windows 7 folder, then the update to windows 8.1 seems to have got rid of my windows.old windows 7. Would it have erased it?

No it just said system will restart, windows 8.1 update, it had nothing about keeping files. I just presumed it was an update and everything would be kept. It looks like its replaced my windows 7 windows.old with windows 8 windows old if you know what I mean?

Hi all, I recently had a forced upgrade of windows 8.1 and now when Im looking for my windows.old folder from when I had windows 7, the users folder is no longer available therefore my work is missing from that folder. I can't seem to locate any of my old stuff. Any help appreciated:) Thanks..
