I still use it, but the only thing I use is the "Cleaner" part of it. I have what cookies to keep also set so that when I run Cleaner it does delete what cookies I want to keep.
I've seen posts about it has changed, but the only function I use has remained the same.
Since "someone stepped on the cord" it could be the front panel jack is broken and sending a signal to the sound so the rear is disabled. The only way to find out is to open the case and disconnect the front panel audio connection (connector) that is plugged into the jack on the motherboard. I...
The first thing I see is you do not have the correct sound hardware driver, only the generic, basic function, Windows Installed High Definition Audio. Get the correct driver from ASRock as the first step.
After you get the correct sound driver installed, you can check and if it still does...
It "was" a problem but fixed not too long after it was discovered. I have both Windows Defender and Malwarebytes and neither finds any problem with the program.
Try a different port on the PC too. If you are using a front panel USB port, try a rear port. One other thought, make sure the PC sound is disabled, preferably in the BIOS in case it is causing a problem with the Duo-Capture.
I'm now using an MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid recording interface unit...
I have a recording studio and used to have a Roland Octa-Capture.
The Duo-Capture can run on USB bus power or external power supply. If you are using USB bus power that could be one issue.
This was designed to be used with recording software, not to be the PC's "sound card". Why do you...
A Factory restore is or can be a hassle, but sometimes is needed. You need to back up your user data to some other media before doing a factory restore as all user data will be lost. However, you should be periodically backing up your user data at a minimum and doing full hard drive disc image...
I do a lot of support on the Dell forums. Exactly what has been an issue from the start? Have you ever done a factory restore (reload back to the original factory disc image)? There have been a very small few that the initial Dell software load was corrupted and doing the factory restore...
The same BIOS is applicable to Win 7 and Win 8.1 according to the Dell site. Older versions of the BIOS state the same thing. Thus there should not be an issue with the BIOS and installing Win 7.
I have a (home) recording studio. I kept a dual boot, Win 7/Win 10 for a long time on my old...
You should not need to update the BIOS to install Win 7. Both Win 8.1 and Win 7 use the same BIOS. Its apparently working OK on Win 8.1 so it will also work OK in Win 7.
I used to do a lot of support on the Dell forums, never heard of needing a BIOS upgrade in a case like this.
There is a statement on the Dell downloads "This file will automatically self-install after downloading". And "restart required".
That is misleading. Here is the complete instructions to install it from within Windows:
One caution, BIOS updates should not be installed unless it...
Best option on both new PC's is to remove the OEM hard drive, with Win 10 on it, and use a new (or reuse an old) drive to install the different OS's. That way if there are problems and for example XP won't run on the new hardware you still have the original hard drive with Win 10 on it. If you...
