Well thanks for the info, i went back and installed windows 7 but dual booted linux with it and im using linux for now. hopefully this will tell me if its the system or the card for sure.

No all drivers were stable. I didnt even know the memory on the card could go! Thanks for that this may be what is happening. How would XP run and 7 wouldnt if the card memory was bad though? i dont get that.

Ive had windows 8 for a while now but in the last few months ive started to get blue screens randomly. Im pretty sure it started after a graphics card update. Theres been a few updates since then but every now and then it bluescreens. Ive even tried rolling back the video drivers but no luck...
