    You are right. Surface RT users do not have the options as described to you. However, there is a Hide option. When you view the update, you can hide it by a long press at the update, then tap Hide update.

    If you son has his own pc, I would just simply delete his account and that will be the end of the "temp profile" issue. After that, run a system file check ( sfc /scannow ) to make sure your system is in proper working order.
