Certainly in the UK it is difficult to buy a PC without Windows 8 on it so anyone buying a PC will get windows 8 like it or lump it.

I think he means that IE is displaying the page optimized for a mobile device rather than the desktop site.

I like it so far. I think having the desktop background display on the start screen makes the two seem linked and not separate entities as before. I am trying to use the metro interface as much as I can and avoid the desktop, but haven't been too successful yet.

I agree in principal that windows 8 needs to keep the desktop but I think long term windows will become metro centric. I think touch will replace the mouse in time. I don't think voice control is really the way forward; could you imagine it in an open plan office everyone shouting at their...
