I downloaded and installed that still no sound, my microphone works OK, when I run a test I can see the response, but no sound at all. :-(

The second part of my post was edited after I posted I found that I could install a previous version of Skype onto Win 8. :-)

After I installed Win 8, I tried to install Skype, I was directed to the Microsoft Shop page where I downloaded Skype and attempted to install it, It went through the motions and said Skype is being installed then it came up with the message that Skype cannot be installed. Now when I go back to...
