I need assistance also, I didn't set the admin permissions to full control in RegEdit. Now I'm unable to restore my registry. Is there a way to restore my registry if I got to Step 12 but did NOT complete Step 10? Thanks, Rick

I expect we will mostly use the desktop also. I found myself deleting a lot of the tiles when I saw the default apps for the first time.

Are companies just boycotting Win 8 waiting on the sidelines for the next major OS release? Hopefully, this won't be too much of an issue as my wife doesn't run too many programs.

Do you like it better now? I'm going to keep an open mind but I just don't see my wife or me using this interface as we also didn't get a touch screen.

I saw it on my machine also. It was pinned to the task bar also. I forgot to take a factory back up before removing bloatware so I'm restoring the factory image now, but what I noticed is that there are a ton of Toshiba apps. Rick

Did you reinstall windows or just leave it as it came from the factory?

OK, I have to read up on this as it sounds like a change from Win 7.

Would you just use the out of the box Windows installation?

Thanks for the reply. It is a Satellite P50 with I7 haswell processor. I noticed the function keys were not labeled and that is confusing but haven't really played much with the laptop yet. I will set her up as the administrator so hopefully there will not be any issues there. Thanks...
