Solved BSOD while computer was 'sleep' overnight

Hi John, I went ahead and replaced the motherboard and CPU. A friend of mine was gracious enough to install it for me and we've made some discoveries: 1) The screws tying the motherboard down were all loose except for one. This could very well cause a short. 2) The USB wire that goes to the...

Solved BSOD while computer was 'sleep' overnight

Hi John, I have so many issues now that I'm convinced that this is a hardware issue (more specifically, the motherboard). Here's what happened over the past 24+ hours: - After updating/removing some programs (SpeedFan, Intel RST, etc), I restarted the computer and found that neither my mouse...

Solved BSOD while computer was 'sleep' overnight

I heard my PC reboot itself last night, and came on this morning and found the usual message that said "Windows ran into a problem and had to restart". I have uploaded the zip file from the SF Diagnostic tool per the instructions. Thank you much in advance!! ~Bunkei

Solved Windows 8 has recently started to crash - file attached

Thank you for the reply! I proactively uninstalled Norton Internet Security along with a host of other programs based on the research I did (I tried decoding the BSOD myself and found that the drivers possibly causing the issue belonged to Norton). I updated the nvidia drivers as well, and...

Solved Windows 8 has recently started to crash - file attached

Hi there, I'm hoping you guys can help me. Up until a couple of weeks ago, Windows 8 has been performing flawlessly. Now, it randomly crashes. I tried System Restore to an earlier period, but it still crashes. As stated in the ruleset above, I've ran the diagnostic tool and attached it for...

Error 0x80070035 Network path not found

I found a workaround with the problem. I rebooted the computer that I was attempting to connect FROM. After that, everything worked. I know .. weird .. :/

Error 0x80070035 Network path not found

It's odd because it works fine when I try to connect to my Windows 8 laptop from my Windows 7 desktop.

Windows 8 Release Preview crashing upon waking from sleep

I did, but my symptoms are different. So far *knock on wood* there hasn't been any freezes. The only time there's a problem is when it's waking from sleep, so I disabled the sleep option for the time being.

Windows 8 Release Preview crashing upon waking from sleep

Yes, it seems not to matter if I use the Windows Driver or the driver from ATI's site. I decided not to touch the BIOS. For right now, I'm just disabling sleep in the power options, since it's the only time the system crashes. Otherwise, the system seems stable. I think the video driver...

Windows 8 Release Preview crashing upon waking from sleep

I will uninstall the drivers (although I did install them straight from Microsoft's site, as it's a Microsoft Optical Mouse). Honestly, I think it's something with Windows 8, as it's not the only thing that has gone wrong. The Consumer Preview was a nightmare to get stable when I first...

Windows 8 Release Preview crashing upon waking from sleep

How do I install the driver? I don't see an executable for the Windows 7 version. Edit: I just replaced the driver inside of the C:\Windows\System32 folder with the one you attached, but it still crashes. It may be just as you said .. the mobo may be too old to make it reliably work in...

Windows 8 Release Preview crashing upon waking from sleep

I have an Asus motherboard model P5KC. I tried the Windows-provided graphic driver as well as the one from AMD's site; no difference. It's rather odd that if the issue is with the graphics card itself I would experience intermittent issues, but the system only crashes when waking up from sleep.
