This is device manager in resource view. It appears that NVIDIA nForce PCI system management is conflicting here. Is it safe to disable it?

Disabled NVIDIA nForce as well and loaded default settings in BIOS. Didn't help. Hence re-enabled NVIDIA.

I entered BIOS and loaded default settings. It didn't help though! :( Are there any other options as you've mentioned?

Disabled Microsoft Kernel using device manager and restarted. No use. I don't know how to update BIOS.

Is it safe? I hope I won't lose my existing LAN connection as well if I do so, messing up whatever I've got now. Do these two have any other important functions which I may lose by disabling?

I have a d-link DWA 525 wireless network adapter on my PC. I have used it on this PC with win 7 and win 8. Few months back, I noticed that the wireless was much slower than the ethernet cable. Since I didn't have much time then, I started using the cable and probably deleted the wireless...

It's not a user's directory. It's one of the partitions in my PC (not C drive). It's contents includes videos, pictures, documents, etc. each organized into a folder. E.g. D:\Pictures folder.

Frustrated with everything, I deleted the standard user XXX and am now using a guest account. The problem still persists though. Guest users are able to delete some files but not others. Done with windows and its UAC! Phew!

topgundcp: Those permissions you have mentioned are present by default for every user. Then I singled out this user XXX, and added the 'deny' permissions which I have mentioned above. Still facing problems. Some files within the drive Z could still be deleted! :(

I'm still having problems. The user is able to delete some files within some folders. I don't know why. This seems to occur randomly. Is this because the user is part of the group 'PC/users' created by default by windows? I don't think so because by default this group has only read-only...
