Nevermind, found a solution myself. I remembered that I made a bootable flash drive for Windows 8.1 so I tried if I can extract the contents of the install.wim file. Apparently, you can! I opened it with 7-zip and copied the Default folder which was only 350Kb in size. I don't get that error...
I get a "User Profile service failed the sign in" prompt whenever I try to login on every new account I make. From what I've seen on other forums, it seems to be because of a corrupted Default folder. I checked mine and it only has the AppData folder. Is there somewhere I can download the...
I want to try this because my Windows 8.1 install seems to be malfunctioning. Question though, is it still possible to cancel if I'm already at steps beyond step 11?
It seems to be a lot of work lol. What's the worst thing that could happen if I don't fix those issues? I feel like I've had them since 2015 but only noticed them recently because I was tinkering with the sfc /scannow command.

@Bree
Upon booting up my laptop today, I tried sfc /scannow and it worked I think.
But after that I tried /ScanHealth again and it said that the component store is repairable. I wasn't able to take a screenshot, sorry. So I tried /RestoreHealth both with and without /Source and they're...
I don't know exactly what's the main problem but here are the symptoms:
Windows Update is a mess. It usually gets stuck with checking if there are updates. And if it does detect that there are available updates, the downloading takes forever. My theory is that way back in 2015 (my laptop was...
The error I got while installing the update was "Driver Power State Failure". I didn't mind it since I get it quite often.
Naturally, it restarted itself and on bootup, it tries to continue updating. At about 49% it gave me this error: .
I restarted it multiple times. Upon the 3rd restart, it...
