I have a Samsung Series 9 ultrabook with a preview copy of Windows 8 (and nothing else, no dual boot or anything). I downloaded (from MSDN) the full version of Windows 8 as an ISO and tried to upgrade to the full version. Now when I start the computer, I get a screen that says this:
"Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
File: \$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Windows.NEW\WINDOWS\system32\winload.exe
Error code: 0xc000000f
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for Startup Settings
Press F9 to use a different operating system"
Pressing Enter or F8 just brings up this screen again. Pressing F9 brings me to a command prompt window that says "A winpsehl.ini file is present, but no commands were successfully launched. This could be caused by incorrect formatting or an invalid executable name. Please consult the documentation for more information." Exiting this prompt returns me to the recovery screen.
I have a bootable USB with the ISO on it, but inserting that and changing the boot order to have the USB highest doesn't change anything. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
