RTM to Final / Retail - Easy or reformat?

I am a Microsoft Partner -- and therefore, I have Windows 8 64-Bit RTM installed on a test computer. When I get from Microsoft the final W8, will I have to do a clean install -- -or- can I simply upgrade RTM to Retail -- and activate with my new key?

    Hello David,

The RTM is the final retail version. There's no need to do a clean install though. You could just use the method in the tutorial below to change the product key number if you like.

    Hope this helps,

    Shawn - Thank you.
I did a clean install on a test machine.
I *was* hesitant to install W8 RTM on any other machine -- fearing that I would have to do yet another clean install after I received my "Final" from the Microsoft Partner Program.
Now -- I will proceed to install W8 RTM on other machines.
By the way -- it is my habit to do a clean install of any new MS operating system. I never do upgrades. Too many left over dll's and registry entries.
    Thanks again.

You're most welcome. I agree. I prefer clean vs upgrade as well.
