Hi all,

I just downloaded windows 8 prof from my msdn, and I made a bootable usb stick with WintoFlash and now when I am trying to install I get this message: Windows cannot open the required file D:/Sources/install.wim. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, Error code: 0x80070570. I have looked into the usb stick but install.wim is just there. And I did a disk chek in wintoflash and it found this:

Found problems with source files.

Can't find file D:\sources\boot.wim
Can't find file D:\sources\idwbinfo.txt
Can't find file D:\bootmgr
Can't find folder D:\boot\
Can't find file D:\sources\install.wim or file D:\sources\install.swm
Total errors: 5

I hope someone can help me out! Thank you in advance

You don't give any system info, so hard to say, but on my system, which has a DVD drive and 2 hard drives, my flash drive shows as G:

I have not used Win2Flash, but was there anything about setting a drive letter during the setup?

I just went through the process, and it seems to work normally and produce a good flash drive. I did use the beta version of WintoFlash.

Did you download a Windows 8 image and burn it to DVD? Have you tried downloading again?

As I know, when you're installing windows 7 or 8, you don't need to use Win2Flash or any other software. All you have to do is copy all installation files to your bootable USB stick and then run the setup from your desktop. :) hope it helped. Good luck!
